Taming The Double Dragons: Dog and Dragon Clash

In my previous post April 5 – May 4: DOUBLE DRAGON MONTH I had shared about the nature of the Self Punishment relationship of the Double Dragon. I had also mentioned two other #BaZi relationships that is related to the Dragon sign. In this post, I am going to talk about the #DogAndDragon #Clash.
What is A Clash?
In Chinese metaphysics, BaZi (or Four Pillars of Destiny) is a complex system that analyzes a person’s destiny based on their birth year, month, day and time. Each person's BaZi chart is composed of four pillars, each representing aspects of a person's life, such as social circle, career, relationships, and aspirations. Each pillar consists of one Heavenly Stem and one Earthly Branch.
The concept of a "clash" in BaZi refers to a conflict between elements present in the chart. In BaZi, there are ten Heavenly Stems and twelve Earthly Branches, which correspond to the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water).
A Clash of Elements
A "dog and dragon clash" typically refers to a conflict between the Dog and Dragon Earthly Branches, which are the eleventh and fifth branches, respectively. The Dog is associated with the Earth element, while the Dragon is associated with the Earth element or the Wood element (depending on the system being used). When these two branches clash in a BaZi chart, it suggests a potential source of tension or conflict in the person's life related to the characteristics associated with the Dog and Dragon.
A Clash of Personalities
The Dog and Dragon clash could also be described as primarily due to their contrasting natures:
Dog (戌): Represented by loyalty, sincerity, and protection, Dogs are known for their conservative and cautious approach. They value security, honesty, and stability in life.
Dragon (辰): Dragons are associated with power, ambition, and dominance. They are charismatic, dynamic, and often strive for recognition and success. Dragons tend to be more assertive and risk-taking.
When these two signs clash in a BaZi chart or encounter each other in life, it can indicate potential conflicts or challenges arising from their differing personalities and goals.
A Clash from External Forces
In the context of #2024, this type of clash in BaZi would happen when a person has a Dog in the BaZi chart. The appearance of the Dragon this year activates a Dog and Dragon clash that may indicate potential conflicts or challenges in certain aspects of life for the individual. The clash suggests that the energies represented by these two signs are not in harmony, which could lead to tension, misunderstandings, or obstacles in achieving goals. In certain instances, this clash between the two elements could also signify potential physical injury and health threats.
In BaZi study, fear is often associated with having a Clash in the Chart. A person will become more paranoid and anxiety-driven if he or she has a high number of Clashes in the Chart.
Fear stifles our thinking, creativity, and ability to achieve our goals. It often manifests as doubt, holding us back from exploring our full potential and talents. Fear stemming from uncertainty and doubt often leads to a constant state of worry about potential negative outcomes. This mindset can create a self-fulfilling prophecy, where our fears manifest as obstacles in our path, even when they may not have existed.
Resistance to change, driven by fear of the unknown, can also prevent us from embracing new opportunities and experiences that could ultimately enrich our lives. Change is an inevitable part of life, and while it can be unsettling, it also brings opportunities for growth and positive transformation. Yet, fear of the unknown can prevent us from embracing change and discovering its potential benefits.
Recognizing and confronting our fears is crucial for personal growth and fulfillment. By acknowledging and addressing our fears, we can begin to break free from their grip and unlock our true potential. This often involves stepping out of our comfort zones, cultivating resilience, and fostering a mindset of courage and optimism. Through this process, we can embrace change, pursue our aspirations, and lead more fulfilling lives.
